Who we are

Forex Tool Data is a directory of MetaTrader Expert Advisors and indicators. We publish measurements computed from each product's own published record. We do not sell any of the products listed; links to buy go to the seller's own storefront.

What we collect

When you read the site

Nothing you type, because there is nothing to type. Our server keeps ordinary web-server logs of requests it receives, which include your IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser's user-agent string. These exist to keep the site running and to spot abuse. They are not linked to a profile and not used for advertising.

When you use the comparison tool

The picker runs entirely in your browser. Which products you compare is not sent to us and not recorded.

When a member of our staff signs in

The admin area sets a session cookie so a signed-in editor stays signed in. It holds a random token and nothing else — no name, no address, no preferences. We also record failed sign-in attempts, so that repeated guessing can be rate-limited. That is the only place this site stores a person's details, and only for people who work on it.

Cookies

One, and only for staff: __Host-session, set when an editor signs in, cleared when they sign out or after twelve hours. It is marked HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax, so it cannot be read by scripts and is not sent from other sites.

Reading any public page on this site sets no cookie. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Third parties a page contacts

• Google Fonts. Typefaces load from fonts.googleapis.com andfonts.gstatic.com. That request tells Google your IP address and browser, the way any request for a file does. We set no cookie through it and receive nothing back.
• Our host. Whoever serves the site necessarily processes the request in order to answer it.
• Links out. Following a link to MQL5 or to a seller takes you to their site, under their policy, not ours. Some outbound links may carry a referral code, which tells the destination that the visit came from us. It does not tell us who you are.

We run no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixels, no session recording and no A/B testing. If that changes, this page changes first.

Data about products, not people

Most of what this site stores is not personal data at all: prices, versions, dates and trading statistics published by MQL5. We also read the reviews a listing publishes, but we count them and discard the text — a product page reports how many reviews raised a subject, never who wrote what. Reviewer names are not stored.

How long we keep things

• Server logs: kept only as long as they are useful for operating the site.
• Admin sessions: twelve hours, or until sign-out.
• Sign-in attempt records: cleared on a successful sign-in, and pruned on a rolling basis.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EU, the GDPR gives you the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. In practice a reader of this site is unlikely to be identifiable to us beyond a log entry, but ask and we will tell you what we can find.

Our lawful basis for server logs and the sign-in session is legitimate interest: running the site and keeping it secure.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data about them.

Changes

When this policy changes materially we update the date at the top. We do not keep old versions online, so if a specific wording matters to you, keep your own copy.

Separate from privacy, but worth repeating where people read: nothing on this site is financial advice, we are not a licensed adviser, and past trading results do not predict future results.
